Hi

Mascara has the sortest life out of all make up pretty much.

Its to do with the ingediates and also as you use directly on your lashes and then the wand goes back in the tube it breeds bacterias etc.

You should not keep a mascara for longer than 4 months.

Some say throw away after 3 months. Some do start to dry up after this sort of time but others are ok for another month. Its safe to use for 4 months. If you want it to last past 3 months a tip is to not pump the wand up and down as this makes air get in the product and drys it up faster.

Profesionals say that you should change your mascara every 6 weeks due to cross contamination, however very few people do things by the book, so check the individual manufacturer's instructions. As a rule of thumb, I always change mine every 3-6 months depending on the textuer of it.

Health care professionals say we should replace face and eye makeup every 6 months. Some say three, I found this site may answer some makeup questions we all have from time to time. Enjoy.....:)

About 4 months

However, if it has been exposed to air (top on on tight) it can be much sooner. It will dry out and begin to flake when it is on your lashes
