No it wouldn't be safe. It would probably get infected.
Go to a professional if you're getting it done at all.

Not at all, my sister tried to pierce her own belly button at your age and it got terribly infected. Also, when she tried to take the ring out several months later- it started bleeding non stop for a few minutes.
Speak to your mom openly about it, also making it clear that in less than two years you will be living on your own if desired and caring for the piercing is a step towards independance.

You can very easily get an infection. Cleaning it can be a hassle.
Don't fight this battle with your mom. You can wait until your 18. Besides most people only want to get belly button rings because everyone has them and their mom's won't let them. If that's why you want it, fight another battle. And whatever you do, don't pierce your tongue. That's just stupid. Bad for your teeth and that to can get infected.

Youa mummy is she! Well posh posh and piddly doo, let's all take a walk down Burberry lane, have a cup a tea and check again with me mummy!
She probably realizes your stomach is very large, and cannot find your belly button.

it is NEVER safe to do this yourself. speak to your mother again. i would far rather take my child, at 16, somewhere i knew was safe and reputable than wonder everyday was she going somewhere unsanitary or even worse, contemplating doing it herself. i think at 16 you are old enough to make this decision for yourself, i do not know where you are, but here in Scotland the age for a piercing without parental consent is 16. speak to your mother, once you have done your homework, where you would be going to have it done etc, bone up on healing times and aftercare. show her you have really thought about this, tell her you would far rather have this done with her blessing than without it, good luck to you

No. You could get a really bad infection. You should definitely get it done by a professional piercer, in a tattoo and piercing place. Take you mums advice.. and wait.

I had a friend to do this, and everything went all right with her.
Granit, her mother was tere, sterilized the needle, and helped with the process.
If I were you, I'd wait.
