I think that many Americans secretly have an inferiority complex when it comes to Brits LOL
What I mean by that is that many Americans consider anyone who speaks with a refined Brit accent an intellectual, and here in the U.S. anyway, it adds twenty or so points to your IQ. I think that most Americans have a good opinion of the British, and if you posed the question to them "If you could no longer be an American, but had to be a European, which nationality would you choose?" I'd bet money that many Americans would say "British".

I absolutely love Britain well not the older one but the new one is great. I've dreamed of moving there it seems that more intelligent people live there. I'm an atheist and everyone says they have a pretty good percentage of them compared to America. And all my idols are from there Richard Dawkins, Douglas Adams, Monty Python. I think America is a little misrepresented over there though. There plenty of intelligent nice people over here but most the foreign focus is on the idiots like our president. And I think people like him drive the intelligent ones out of America which causes us to become dumber by the second. But I suspect it's not all dandy over there eitheir but the images I get sure are.

Americans are just now starting to realize that the British are not Americans and that we are not British (same for Canada). I think this is why we are having diplomatic problems right now. What we think of your country is based on your cultural exports such as the royal family, Jaguar, James Bond, tea time, and tourism. This is why we view the British with an elite status. Similar to what America exports to UK - Mc Donalds, sweat pants, Ford, this is why you think we are all fat and stupid.

If asked what country they identify with the most, most Americans would say England.
