i am not sure about applique kinda stuff but wal mart sells winnie the pooh patches, some of them would be really cute on a knitted blanket. and i have one with a sew on patch and it looks nice.

EBAY!!!!!!! Just type in Winnie The Pooh applique or applique & away you go!! The iron on ones you just sew around the edges.
