I need a gangster type of african-american name, and none of those rap and RnB and hip hop artist names (curtis jackson, etc.) but one that sounds african-american and hoodlum like...no offence to anyone, and thx in advance.

I think Aletha is a beautiful name for a girl. Not too hoodlum like, but I don't think girls need to be part of da hood at birth anyhow. For boys, any name combo that can be shortened into a cool sounding combo is good. Like "R.J.", etc. Good luck

I have always thought the name Shaniqua sounded real hood rat for a girl and Damaija for a boy.

Every kid I know at my school (where I teach in an inner city) is naming their baby Neveah (heaven backwards) for a girl or Jayden for a boy. So, those are realistic hood names.

I think its great that you want some names for a child.. etc. But please dont name the child something wild and ghetto no offense but it will affect them in life if you name them something hard to pronounce or spell. I suggest

:Ralph
:Nathaniel
:Joshua
:Travis
:Jamal
:Micheal
:Ronald
:Nick/Nicholas
