it depends on the type is squeak.
a long skueak that gets louder as it repeats it usualy shows excitement. eg when it knows theres food on the way.
one short sharp squeak usualy shows pain or fear.
they also purr that shows happyness
a low pitch squeak is there way of talking

guinea pigs squeak is the same as a cat purr or a dog bark,
it their version of talking. talk to them and they talk back or give them some treats.

depends on when its sqeakin.could be happy to see you or hungry!!or just wants some one to hear the squeaks.my friends makes noise for carrots!!!
