It was a bloody shambles wasn't it?

The coach plays the wrong players. Against Isreal, why not start with Barry and Downing on the left and Carragher as right back? Why not play a diamond midfield like Chelsea does where u can get the best of Gerrard and Lampard with Hargreaves holding behind them? Why not leave out Rooney? What has he achieved. He's suppose to score goals. How many has he scored. Even when Man Utd plays, he can't score against teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and teams who has good defenders. He has failed to deliver for England over and over again. Andy Johnson is a failure at International level. Defoe is a failure too. Vassel used to come of the bench and get the goals at any time called upon. Why not call him to the squad?? He has what it takes to score at International levels, given his limited time of play. Good strikers will score no matter who the defender is. Just look at Shevchenko, Drogba, Henry, Bellamy, Ronaldo, Villa and Crespo. Just compare them with the current crop of England strikers. What a crap!

No England have always been a average team which makes it worse considering it is our nations sport. At least Sven got our average team to the championships and to the last 8 which i am beginning to doubt Mclaren ever will.
Dafoe played brilliantly when put on near the end. Why didn't he start.
Stupid also to have ever dropped Beckham. Our last class player and gone for good.

Sadly yes, but there doesn't seem to be one noticeable reason. McClarens' results are very similar to Erikssons' so I don't believe its him. Sven's last game was suicide playing Rooney alone upfront against Portugal but Lampard, Rooney and Gerrard just aren't working either as shown in Israel so it may not be tactics. There is absolutely no way its because Beckham is out because he had zero pace. I think its because the players just can't gel well together, they're all mainly from rival clubs and its probably just hard to co-operate with each other with the Premiership tension, the fact that they're overpaid and not happy with £75,000 contract renewals just makes them think they're better than they actually are as well.

he should go now and at least keep a small amount of dignity, how can someone do so bad with the set of world class players we have? im tellin ya...we should have never let sven go, i no he was a bit kooky and had personal issie but so what, dont we all? how the hell did he get the job? i reeckon its easier to win, its like he is trying and testing way too much. if he waits to get the sack, itl be too late and we wont qualify, can you imagine the embarresment if we dont qualify for the euro 2008? we'll be a laughing stock, Mclaren out, Big Sam IN!!

not yet, we have got a lot of home games to come. how many times have teams turned things around after a couple of good results. i believe they have the talent they just need to believe. also when teams play England they keep all their players behind the ball which makes them look worse than they are. we will get a true reflection at the end of the group when teams will have to play more openly.

No. I think the press tend to over-react. Russia and Croatia are good teams. It's a tough group you've got but I'd still prefer it to ours, Ukraine, France and Italy! A couple of wins and England will be back on track.

i think so lampard is a central midfielder as is gerrard though stevie g can play at right of midfield the problem lies in balance england suffers from lack of natrual left footed players that can play on the left england have got ashley cole and wayne bridge stewart downing and the only player seem to be left out is gareth barry of aston villa he is a left sided midfielder if you play a right footed player on the left he has to cut back to cross the ball rather than cross on the run

we need to stop 'starting' with players that consistently don't perform for England.
