BOTH : way overpaid (even by ny standards) but he does look good so far in spring training. bad news for us yankee fans + bluejay fans but yanks have a great lineup and hopefully figure him out early in the season. schilling is getting old and wakefield is 50/50 so red sox better hope he can win 16-18 games .
its a long season so lets see by 4th of july whats going on
good luck sox----------------go yanks

I lauged at "Yanks Rule." Typical jealuos yanks fan. if the Yanks could have known what the Sox were going to pay just to talk to him, they would have over bid the Sox. Anywya, Dice-K has batters talking to themselves after batting against him. Time will tell if he is good as he was in Japan. It should be a good season with Pap back as closer and some good seasoned veterans.

He's quite obviously for real, and these guys who keep saying "these are the best players in the world, they have to prove themselves again" are deluded, and look more and more foolish as nearly every player from Japan does well in this league.

What's not for real, though, is Daisuke's "nickname." Dice-K isn't even a nickname, it's just a different spelling of his actual name. And a lame, nonsensical one, at that. He's too good a pitcher to get stuck with it.

Fraud.... wait until he faces Major League players for a full season...

The best hitting division in Baseball and this guy is going to be successful...

Even premiere pitchers are neutral in this division.

Dice -K is a product of the ridiculous Boston media...

If Manny Farts,.... It's "Manny being Manny" ... huge article about anything a red sux player.....

Bottom line.... 1st time around Dice-K might look good but all these guys are the best players in the World -- they will make adjustments.... Plus he has to adapt to pressure from media, stadiums, travel, etc......

Too much money for an unproven player!!!

Just look at the way he has pitch in spring training and he has not shown everything he has yet but you will see when the season starts but is Alex Rodriguez overpaid yes

he isn't overpaid, that's for sure- he's being paid less than Gil Meche. I think that he is for real- look at his results in Spring training and his past in japan, plus he's pitched so much and has had no problems with injury. go sox.

He's overpaid, but I think he'll have an alright season at about 15 wins, which probably makes him overpaid if he's only going to get 15 wins.

everyone is overpaid, that is first and foremost! I think Dice-K will be a good pitcher. Time will tell, i don't believe he is going to be the next nolan ryan though. he will be the staff ace in boston though. Schilling is going to be PISSED, he won't be #1 starter anymore

He won't be Johan Santana, but I think he'll come in and win 15-17 games right away. I think he'll be better than Barry Zito, who was paid similar money this year in free agency.
