Violations for nothing and questions not being put up until hours after they've been asked. What next?

No, I would not agree that Yahoo!Answers is going downhill. I think there are still problems with the Violation reporting process, but they are working on that. The system did seem slow to post questions last night, but there were a lot of people on-line and a lot of questions were being asked. Probably the lack of information from Yahoo!Answers has added to concerns that something is "amiss".

Yes, it's going downhill fast. I agree with others...I don't want to be here most of the time. I answer far fewer questions than I have in the past & see a LOT less of the 'regulars' due to all the unfair violations and suspensions.
What's next? They will have to address the issues and make more changes, or just shut the whole thing down. Will they? I doubt either will happen. >:-/

I don't think it's going downhill. When I first got on, there was a lot of sexual ?'s that were too bizarre for children. That has changed. The screening is better. I have "violated" ! But it was answering a question with a question, stuff like that. I haven't experienced any problems posting a question. (What I can't stand are the evil, "rater haters" ! That's what I call them ! When you read the answers, sometimes, you can see where everyone has given good, helpful, informative, and intelligent answers, and someone has come along and given ALL of them a bad rating ! I go back and give EVERYONE a thumbs-up to equal it out !

You know...I have this to add...yesterday I actually set out on a"quest", sort to speak, to try and find a tab to click on the screen (tried several screens) or a phone #...even and address for Yahoo Answers customer service. I was wanting to get some answers on a simple question concerning my 360 page...and an avatar I want. No big deal, really....but, I could not find anything...the only thing thats open for questions such as this is the Yahoo Products section. I have gone there 3 times to ask about this....and all I get is...I'll get back to you on this....no one ever has...

It does seem that there is a problem with Yahoo!Answers posting questions and sending violations for nothing, makes me feel like not coming back for a while. =)

I do feel that Answers is woefully under-moderated.
Yahoo expects the participants to do the police work and housekeeping, as expressed in their "Community Guidelines," but they seem oddly reluctant to suspend the accounts of consistent, repeat "offenders" who just post abusive, disgusting and aggressive things.
In several topic areas mature, legitimate questions and civil responses comprise only 10% of the total; the rest are as described above.
If Yahoo is truly sincere about wanting participants to share useful knowledge and experience, and do it courteously, they're going to have to get WAY more serious about moderating Answers.

Yep, its my first time on in days after violation which i still cant figure out. Whats the point if the fun is gone.

I don't think so. Look at the vast number of members with more joining every day. It must take one heck of a staff at YA to keep up with it all. Besides, I just take it one day at a time and try to enjoy myself. And as another answerer said, it's a great place to meet and talk to people. Stay within the rules and count your blessings dude.

It kinda is, but its still good cus its a place for people to help random strangers. Its not doing so good on yahoo's part...next they'll probly start up a categorie for racists or pervs, cus theres so many of them on this site
