That's because israel doesn't play by the same rules as mere mortals.
Why has no international agency ever investigated israel's 300 nuclear weapons? Why does israel get away with human rights violations in Palestine that would be identified as genocidal if they were committed anywhere else on the planet?
Jimmy Carter finally came out and admitted that the Palestinians live under apartheid conditions, for which he was immediately vilified in the controlled media.
Why is a "jewish state" a great idea, to the tune of BILLIONS of US tax dollars in support, and yet an "Islamic state" is evil by nature? It makes no logical sense.
Onward Christian Soldiers...

Good question.
Culturally, Israel is more European than MidEastern or Asian. Politically, no MidEastern country will allow Israel into their football league. I guess it's tough to play against a country whose existence one doesn't recognize. Rather than completely isolate Israel--which WOULD be anti-Semitic--just because her neighbors want to destroy her and slaughter her people, FIFA and others throw her in with Europe.
At the 2004 Olympics, Arash Miresmaeili was disqualified for refusing to wrestle Israeli Ehud Vaks in judo. Although the IOC did the right thing, its official statement said, "because he was above the allowable weight limit for his class." Naturally, the "Jewish-owned" global media swept it away as a non-story, but imagine if an Israeli refused to compete an Iranian. Front page news! That my friend is where anti-Zionism becomes anti-Semitism.
An aside: for nearly four decades, Israel was grouped with the Arab fascist dictators at the UN. Although geographically correct, this ensured that Israel would never have a seat on the Security Council or any committees. In 2000, the UN grouped Israel with Western Europe.
Does Russia play with the Europeans or the Asians? At least 75% of Russia is in Asia.

I think it's because most of the people that set up the modern state of Israel were European Jews, many of whom had no connection with the historical Jews other than adopting Judaism as their religion in the middle ages.
Personally speaking I wouldn't have them anywhere near Eurovision etc. They should be treated like South Africa during Apartheid times. Any athletes etc going there should be blacklisted. They are an evil regime. Just by saying this I will be deemed anti semitic. I am not. I have time for the original Jews & of course the Arabs, they are semitic too.

I wish people would leave Israel alone. Talk about persecution by the back door. If Eurovision and football help to bring about more friendly relations between countries, that can't be bad, surely? As for allowing the Arab states to play, they do in certain competitions but if you recall that idiot in charge of Iran stating he wanted to remove Israel from the face of the earth, it does rather make a mockery of peaceful intentions.

Why don't you ask about Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia???
It is always easy to pick and blame Israel foreverything isn't it!
Would you like to play a game with deadly enemies? The Israeli players would probably have a grenade or bomb kicked at them instead of a football.
This is getting boring - most of Turkey is not in Europe - and yet they are included and what about Russia.
Just grow up!
The Euroviion song contest allows countries that receive European TV to enter btw...
Participation
Eligible participants include Active Members (as opposed to Associate Members) of the European Broadcasting Union. Active members are those whose states fall within the European Broadcasting Area, or otherwise those who are members of the Council of Europe.[17]
The European Broadcasting Area is defined by the International Telecommunication Union:[18]
The "European Broadcasting Area" is bounded on the west by the western boundary of Region 1, on the east by the meridian 40° East of Greenwich and on the south by the parallel 30° North so as to include the western part of the USSR, the northern part of Saudi Arabia and that part of those countries bordering the Mediterranean within these limits. In addition, Iraq, Jordan and that part of the territory of Turkey lying outside the above limits are included in the European Broadcasting Area.
The western boundary of "Region 1" is a line drawn west of Iceland down the centre of the Atlantic Ocean.[19]
Active members include broadcasting organisations whose transmissions are made available to (virtually) all of the population of the country in which they are based.[17]
If an EBU Active Member wishes to participate, they must fulfil conditions as laid down by the rules of the Contest (of which a separate copy is drafted annually). As of 2006, this includes the necessity to have broadcast the previous year's programme within their country, and paid the EBU a participation fee in advance of the deadline specified in the rules of the Contest for the year in which they wish to participate.
It should be noted that eligibility to participate is not determined by geographic inclusion within the continent of Europe, despite the "Euro" in "Eurovision" – nor has it anything to do with the European Union. This explains the inclusion of Israel in the Contest, despite its not being a part of geographical or political Europe. In 1980, Morocco — a North African country — participated in the Contest.

Anything that potentially isolates Israel......Is generally concluded to be antisemetic in society today. Remember the current buzzword is "political correctness" ( Whatever that means)
