Assuming you mean what is written and not 1/(6x+6) = 3/(5x-3)
Multiply everything by 30 then use substitution.
30 used as 5 & 6 are the lowest common factors in your sum
(30/6)x + 180 = (90/5)x - 90
5x + 180 = 18x - 90
13x = 270
x = 270/13

Its Easy.
1/6x+6=3/5x-3
6+3=3/5x-1/6x
9=13/30x
9*30=13x
=>x=270/13=20.7692

1/6x + 6 = 3/5x - 3
Brings the numbers of same values together but remember when you move a number from one side of equal to another its sign changes
so
1/6x - 3/5x = -6 -3
( take LCM) = -9
(1/6x)5 - (3/5x)6 = -9
5/30x-18/30x = -9
( now we can take LCM as common) = -9
( 5 x - 18x ) / 30 = -9
-13x / 30 = -9
( cross multiply )
-13x = -270
so
X = -270 / -13
( minus on numerator is crossed with minus on denominator)
X=20.77

well 1/6 and 3/5 have to have a common denometor so it would be 5/30 instead of 1/6 and 18/30 instead of 3/5. then the problem would be 5/30x+6=18/30x-3. than minus 5/30x on both sides. so if u didn't get that it means minus 5/30x from 5/30x to make 0 and 5/30x from 18/30x so it would become 13/30x. than it would be 6=13/30x-3. than you add 3 on both side. so like before, but you add instead, you add 3 from -3 to make 0 and add 3 to 6 to make it 9. so than the problem would be 9=13/30x. Than you than you have to do 13/30 divided by 9. to do that you have to multiply 30/9 times 9 (i don't know if you learned this but i don't know how to explain it). So than x=270/13
so it would look like this:
1/6x+6=3/5x-3
5/30x+6=18/30x-3
-5/30x -5/30x
6=13/30x-3
+3 +3
9=13/30x
30 . 9 =270 ( ya its supposed to be 30/13 and 9/ and 270/13
13 1 = 13 and . means times)
x=270/13

subtract 6 from the left side and the right side
1/6x + 6 - 6= 3/5x-3-6
combine like terms
1/6x=3/5x-9
then multiply by 6 on both sides
1/6x * 6= (3/5x-9)*6
x=18/5x-54
subtract x from both sides
0= 13/5x-54
then solve for x
54=13/5x
multiply by the inverse of the fraction....5/13
(54/1) (5/13)=x
combine
270/13=x
then divide
20.7692=x approx.

1/6 x + 6 = 3/5 x - 3 >subtract 1/6 x from both sides
6 = 3/5 x - 1/6 x - 3 >find a common denominator
6 = 18/30 x - 5/30 x - 3 >combine like terms
6 = 13/30 x - 3 >add 3 to both sides
9 = 13/30 x >multiply both sides by 30
270 = 13x >divide both sides by 13

Very important that brackets be used to avoid confusion.
The question as presented could be read as:- (i) (1/6) x + 6 = (3/5).x - 3
OR
(ii) 1/(6x) + 6 = (3/5x) - 3
OR
(iii) 1/(6x + 6) = 3/(5x - 2)
Possible Answers
(i) (1/6).x + 6 = (3/5).x - 3
9 = (13/30) x
x = 270/13
(ii) 5x - 2 = 18x + 18
x = - 20/13
(iii) 5x - 2 = 18x + 18
- 20 = 18x - 5x
13x = - 20
x = - (20 /13)

1/6x + 6 = 3/5x - 3
30(1/6x) + 30(6) = 30(3/5x) - 30(3)
5x + 180 = 18x - 90
5x + 180 - 5x = 18x - 90 - 5x
180 = 13x - 90
190 + 90 = 13x - 9- + 90
270 = 13x
270 / 13 = 13x / 13
270 / 13 = x
20.76923077 = x

The trick is to put the x's on one side and the numbers on one side
Step1: take the 6 from the left, make it negative, and put it on the right hand side of the equation
Step2: take the 3/5x from the right to the left hand side of the equation and make it negative
Step3: Perform the arithmetic operation
Step4: Find x
