Problem faced when downloading mails from Gmail to Outlook?

while i am downloading my mails from my gmail account... it downloads not even half of my mails stored on the gmail account. if my gmail has 600 mails ... then outlook only shows & downloads about 200 of them. Please help.

The idea behind Gmail is NOT having to use Outlook.

Gmail is an online webmail service, and as long as you don't delete any important Email, you will never lose them. Their servers are backed up nightly.

Delete the Gmail account from Outlook and go directly to: www.gmail.com
