A profound thought...... We are our own worst enemy. We plan and calculate, deceive and manipulate. We are born innocent and pure. We debase ourselves with our desires and needs. We hurt ourselves through our decisions more than anybody else could possibly hurt us......but we are human and that is part of the process of maturing as a species... We destroy ourselves or learn and evolve. You made me think, I like that.

We are our greatest enemy and our best friend too.
Each of us is bestowed with unlimited potential When we do not realise the utmost we can it is only because we limit ourselves. Thus we are our greatest enemy.
The way we can help ourselves, no one else can. We are at the beck and call of ourselves at all times. So we are our best friends.

I don't believe that we are our own enemy, because that would suggest an active form of attack or dislike. I believe we are the most harmful source of our own neglect, whether it is from not doing the beneficial but unpleasant behaviors or overdoing the behaviors that are pleasant but eventually harmful to ourselves. If a person gives of themselves so much that it creates self harm, does it take away the value of what they have given or remove some of the benefit to their soul? How do you judge your responsibility to tend your own needs without straying into myopic self indulgence?

We is a general term. It is better if it is I. As i cannot answer for others. The body mind and intellect may have enemies. But the real life in us the soul has no enemies or friends. So there is no mistake in beleiving in ourselvelves.

Depends on how you live your life. What decisions you make, how much you know yourself... We all have both possibilities I guess.
