Im just wondering how Oregon is being completely overlooked by everybody and although they are in the Elite 8, went 6-2 against teams that were ranked at the time, beat UCLA when they were #1, won the Pac-10 Tournament by a landslide, and have 29 wins, still nobody even gives them a second, or first look for that matter. Im not saying they are better than Florida, but did anybody think in any fantasy land that GW would have beaten Michigan St, UNC, and Connecticut? And they were an 11 seed I believe. Oregon is a 3 seed....All Im asking is to give respect where respect is due. Apparently they are doing something right to be one of the final 6 teams in the Nation.

From your question, it's obvious you are talking about this year alone. However, when many people judge a college basketball team, they let the emotions of the past affect their judgement on the here and now. Obviously, Oregon has had a great year. But in the past, what have they done? Traditionally, UCLA has 10 National Championships. Kentucky has the most all-time wins and 7 National Championships. Coach K has taken Duke to 10 Final 4s and 3 National Championships in the last 20 years. Florida just won the National Championship last year and many anticipating back to back NCs with the same starters returning. How many Final 4s has Oregon gone too, and more importantly, what have they done in the last five years? Not much...which is unfortunate that fans judge them based on tradition and the recent past when they have proved their team is great THIS year.

They have not had a signature run at any time in the last 5 to 10 years. Duke has all sorts of big name player and a marquee coach not to mention playing in the biggest college sports rivalry. The Ducks play in Norman(who the hell has ever heard of that). Not to mention the Ducks really arent that good. I thought Winthrop was going to beat them.
