My house is less than 5 minutes walking distance from 2post offices, a supermarket, a DVD hire, pizza, Chinese and Indian takeaways, 8 pubs, 2 restaurants, a library, 2 bookies, 4 hairdressers, 2banks, 3 cash machines, bus route, and a chippie. My town has everything I need close by but my street is still quiet. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

It is a small town. Population about 10,000 so you know alot of people. You get to know who the cops are as well as your local politicians so they do listen to you. You also have more say in matters around town. Provided you go to town meetings and such.
