Probably not - usually you can only take holidays while you are not off sick. If you miss the end of your holiday year by being off sick, you loose your holidays.
If you have been on long-term sick leave and are worried about your rights to build up paid holiday, you should seek help straight away from an experienced adviser, for example, at a Citizens Advice Bureau. Hi, The company i work for does not allow holidays abroad when you are off sick, you can go in this country UK. If you go back to work within the working year before 5 April, you should be able to have some of your holiday entitlement if you don't go back you will loose all your holiday pay, as technically your are on sick pay. Each company is different and your holiday pay may be frozen because you are off sick especially if it is long term sick, you cannot have holiday pay and sick pay at the same time.

Its a few years since I managed staff, but employment law then was that if someone was on holiday but were actually sick they could reclaim lost holiday (with a doctor's certificate). With regard to taking a holiday whilst on long-term sick leave, this is something I think depends very much on the employer and something I believe you need to speak with your line manager aboutl. The view in the NHS hospital where I worked was that if someone was off with say, stress, it could be that a holiday would actually assist them and therefore it would not be frowned upon. There are certainly plenty of employment law sites on the net. Also, check your terms and conditions document which every employee must have from their employer. Good luck.

Need to spell check this one. Yes, your holidays do not count as sick days. However, your contract of employment may not allow you to carry over unspent holiday. Read the small print. Also, what has happened to others in the past, known as Custom and Practise. Do your research with the company and ask HR what company policy is.

As far as I am aware, you cannot be signed off sick and on holiday at the same time. I would be a bit careful asking your boss for holiday when you are off long term sick!
