I know if you have not had a period for one year, you have reached menopause.... my question is, do all hot flashes, mood swings, etc. end then also? or is that when it all begins?

It really all depends on the women's body, In most cases the hot flashes mood swings etc.. are all part of the Menopause stage, But it varies with women. It just depends, And in most cases your physician will or can let you know when you are entering this stage of your life.

You get the symptom you describe for anywhere from 3 to 10 yrs before the last period and up to 10 years after. Fun aint it.

no the symptoms u're saying are the symptoms of menopause it starts on episodes .. usually begining when the period is on the edge of ending and the episodes continue from that point on
