Learn some management skills. Possibly take night classes or something and try to earn a associates or bachelor's degree in business or management.
Or simply learn your UML stuff by heart and hope someone notices. Also remember to keep an eye open for any positions that open up and apply for them, even within your own company.

Buy and learn how to use Microsoft Project. Lots of good books are also available.
Once you know M$-Project, all other programs are similar.
