Based on your specs, ATI, but only because you are asking about "Apples and Oranges". The nVidia card is several years older than the ATI. AND, PCI is always slower than AGP.
To compare "Apples to Apples", do a Google search for: compare ATI to nVidia
Then, read the graphic card reviews at www.tomshardware.com

X800 card beats the hell outa the Gforce card you were just talking about. I used be an nividia geek but now ATI can get more game play out the cards than with nividia faster too!!

Based on the platform,PCI express card running much better than AGP card.but as my experience the ATI graphic card run better than NFidia.

ok the difference between the card is the agp is a card that wil run your graphics maximum 8x faster than old pci make sure you have a agp port on your motherboard.

You need to look at other part of card name, like LE, GT, GTS, XL etc. Lowest variant can be less than half speed of highest.
