I wish to purchase second hand maruti WagonR model 2001, and the price quoted by the seller is 2,50,000/- I find it very much on the high side. Can anybody guide me in this regard Thanks.

You can fill in the details about the car, you want to purchase, and they will suggest you estimated price as per current market trends.
By the way, when you look for second hand / used car, some of the following points should be considered. Only year of manufacturing is not good enough. I am mentioning them just because, you didn't specify any of those in your question.
1. Running in kilometers.
2. Condition of tyres
3. Whether insurance is paid or it's due.
4. How many previous owners (preferred is 1st or 2nd sale, not more)
5. Whether vehicle is accident free and papers are clear. (Please check insurance papers for no claim bonus / RC book for accident entry)
6. Battery conditions. (how many years old, when needs a change)
7. Clutch / gear box / engine condition (i.e. driving comfort)
8. The reason, present owner is selling the car.
