You may want to try a rifle like the Ruger 10/22. It is really very nice and inexpensive. It uses a 10 round rotary magazine and its a semi auto. 30 round mags are available to. This rifle comes in .17 HMR, .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum. So you have a few options available to you. If you want to use a pistol then the Ruger Mark 2 with a bull barrel is always a nice choice. It comes in the .22 Long Rifle.

What do YOU consider the meaning of the "best" is?
What you might think is the best dosen't mean that I would
think is the best.
What's the range that you will be shooting from?
Where will you be shooting?
Will you stalk the rabbits, or will you sit and wait?
These are just some questions that you will need to answer
before you make the right decision for the right gun.
But as usual on this site, you'll have all these people who have
VERY LIMITED experience with real air guns, telling you what
to get because they got the same gun for their b-day from
daddy and blew the brains out of a bird and thought it was
cool.
You want a good gun, get this one. You had better be close
to the rabbit if you want a kill. Remember, pistols don't kill
at long range, you had better be within 50ft, and that's close.

stupid idea. if your in the uk all air pistols are limited to 6 foot pounds. and as it takes 4.5 foot pounds to crack a rabbits skull then it is obvious that a pistol is not really powerful enough for shooting over 10 yards. so yes a rifle would be the best choice.
although there are two pistols to choose from that are full power and capable of killing rabbits. these are:
1.sheridan prohunter for £110
2.crosman 2240 ratbuster £100
both these pistols are single shot only.
multishot pistols are not powerful enough.
hope this helps. have a look at uttings website. they have plenty on offer.

You'd be better off with a rifle. Daystate are pretty good. Magazine loaders are available for most medium to high end rifles.
