More than 2 standard alcoholic drinks will act to depress you further. See a doctor. Take up Tai Chi & yoga & meditation. Exercise regularly, eat healthily & keep occupied.

"Just pick up the phone, hun" is some great advice - simply put! In more detail, you may be suffering from a mental illness known as Depression. You do need to seek help. Whatever you do, please don't try to end your own life. THAT IS THE EASY WAY OUT! There is plenty of people out there just like you that are dealing with the same thing, and there are plenty of people that are willing to help. First of all, what you need to do...is lay off the drugs and alcohol! That will only make things worse. Alcohol is a depressant which will make you feel more depressed, if not right away, in the long run, and smoking pot can cause anxiety which is common with people with Depression. You don't want to experience that. So, do YOURSELF A FAVOR, and use all your will power (because I know you have it), and quit the alcohol and drugs, at least until you seek help. If you're not sure where to go...you can start off by talking to a parent, friend, teacher, or going straight to your physician. You need to see a Psychiatrist and Counselor (or Psychologist). These will be referred to you when you see your Primary Physician. If you ever are in a down place where you need to talk to someone, here is a hotline number you can call. It is free, and they are just there to help! 1-800-356-5395. And even if you want to, you can look at my profile, and contact me. God Bless!

Being that your 18 doesn't mean that you could go on drinking and smoking weed. Life has better things to offer aside from those evils. Also, if you want to get your mind of suicide, you could try thinking about something else. If you let your mind wander and delve into things less dark than taking away a life, then hopefully you would gain a more positive outlook on life.
You could try a new hobby, something that you've haven't done before. Try to meet new friends, those who are willing to help. Try to challenge yourself by creating a goal; that always helps someone lost in their thoughts. For example, by the end of the week, you should be drinking less. It may not seem much, but it's a start.

First of all i am sorry that you are feeling this way, i know how it feels. Second of all get off of the pot because this is most likely making your depression worse, so is the alcohol. I can tell you that from experience of dealing with depression and thoughts of suicide that it will not last forever. Have you considered talking to a doctor and maybe trying medication? Also have you been tested for thyroid problems? This can also cause depression. I hope that you are able to find some happiness. If you need to talk you can email me at pippinsgirl6@yahoo.com

Sometimes in life we feel there is no reason to go or we feel deeply sad. There can be many reasons fo these emotions but doors are never closed. There is always a way out and life is so precious and so worth living that you need to make a tiny effort by taking a first step to seek some help. You did that by writing here so you obviously want to be helped which is wonderful. Now you must reach out to someone you feel close to or preferably a family doctor or anyone you trust. By allowing someone to help you, you open the door evenmore as they will take it from there. Please try because there are beautiful adventures waiting for you to explore and so much beauty all waiting for you. Go for it and good luck, You will be fine if you just help yourself in this tiny way. Cherie

Hey! Just asking for help is the first step to getting better! There are people who care.. you just need to reach out.. if you are not comfortable talking to someone you know there are free clinics and hotlines available to matter where you live. They are confidential...
Everyone else is right booze and weed will only dull the pain for awhile but will cause more problems in the end..
Antidepressants will help.. but it takes time.. the best thing to do is talk to somebody to sort things out...
Please dont give up! You have alot to offer the world!

Let me just say talk to somebody close to you about your feelings, get into the nuts and bolts of everything that you think is going wrong in your life and why you feel this way will surface. taking your life or feeling like you want to is not the answer. Life will get better but you need to take it by the horns and bend it to your liking. Its a nasty cycle when you feel worthless and thats nothings ever going to get better. Make an effeort to change what you do not like one step at a time and you'll feel life is worth living. There are many things you'll miss out on that will change you forever like your first born son or daughter, buying a house and catching your kids sneaking out after you've grounded them. And what about your family and friends .. you might answer nobody cares but they do and would grieve if you walk tha path you talking about. What if your children were the ones who would have cured cancer or invented limitless energy?? I know thats a rach but so is winning powerball. Theres always somebody to talk to so my advice is to start. Good luck and take that first step

I have suffered from depression myself. I actually still have issues with it, but I take meds that help. (Zoloft) Depression is hereditary...you have a higher risk of developing it, if someone else in your family has suffered. (damn genetics)
I tried the alcohol and weed route after my sister was killed in a car accident. It just made things worse to say the least!
Please talk to somebody you are close to. Depression is very serious and isn't anything to be ashamed of. The key is to get help asap. The longer you put it off, the deeper your depression may go. I know you feel helpless right now, but suicide is NOT the way to go. Just think of all the people you will be hurting! Please please talk to somebody right away!

Are you religious at all? If you are praying is a great healing process. Get involved with people your own age--but not the ones who tear you down, rather the ones who build you up. You are not very old. You still have much life to live. And whether or not you see it right now, you have much to contribute. There has got to be some one out there that you love, or who loves you. Don't kill yourself. Life is the best thing that was ever given to us.
