they use ANTi-freeze
and we had to set the clocks forward two weeks ago, ostensibly to save electricity but still had to used the lights longer in the morning.

They get out their winter sheets and duvets, and have hot chocolate before bedtime. They might even use heaters, although I'm not sure where they plug them in.. so they're most likely gas heaters..
