Hi,
I recently upgraded my computer (new motherboard, new processor, new RAM) and the speed is slower than my old 1.2ghz computer. It runs games perfectly but normal use is slow. Especially hibernation. My old 400mhz laptop hibernates and resumes like 4 times faster! I am using XP (same on all systems). I had a suspicion that it is my Hard drive (40gb) that came with the old computer I just upgraded.
Thanks,
Jonty

I have Norton Internet Security 2007. Could that be the problem?

Celeron is about 1/4 the speed of a pure P4 processor, and about 1/10th the speed of an AMD CPU. Figure on that.

Probably better not to use hibernation anyway.just turn it off.Celeron processors are useless anyway, its like buying a nVidia FX chipset. The hard drive shouldnt be too much of a problem.Could jsut be spyware, or viruses.try scanning. If you dont have one, mcafee have a free online scan you might try.
