the safest thing to do is DON'T use any PC2PC programs at all, that way you will never get your self in to trouble, in any way shape or form,
for one, it is illegal to download copy righted files of any sort. Music, Video, Software, Pictures Most things are copy righted.
for two, people are being prosecuted for downloading and uploading copy righted Files and those that are caught are paying heavy fines, from $10,000 to $75.000 so be warned .. read the news

I have had limewire for about a year or so. I have never had any major problems with it. Maybe a few glitches, but that could be due to other things on my computer. I feel it is fairly safe and private. Also the searches are more accurate than other shared programs, though you do get a bit of junk that comes up with the search results.

Yes, I recommend using Limewire Pro.
The Pro version is safe to use, downloads files fast, and is just great overall. The newest version also starts and loads up way faster than the old version does as well. Good luck! :D

Beware of any P2P site, it's not the site itself which is "dangerous" but you will be accepting files from strangers, some of whom like to add a virus/trojan/worm to the file.
Think hard....would you allow a stranger into your home? Same thing with accepting a file to your computer.

I use it all time just be sure to have a good antivirus (just in case) and learn how to use very well
if you're not downloading anything at all, be sure to turn it off .
(MAKE RIGHT CLICK ON THE GREEN ICON ON YOUR RIGHT AND CLICK EXIT)
