If you're in a long-term relationship, would you dance with your gay friend like you never would with any straight man? Sleep in the same double bed? Kiss or be kissed by him (something I would not do)? I think my b/f doesn't like it that people (excluding close friends) think my friend (who has a b/f) and I are dating. Anyone who matters knows my friend and I are just close - but too close?

I have a gay friend I'm very close to; he gets on very well with my partner too, which I like. My partner would simply never see him as any sort of threat, nor would he think anything of it if I was dancing closely with him. Having said that, I have never slept in a bed with him, nor would I really want to. We hug and kiss each other (he has a b/f too) and the b/f is also lovely; I'm not sure what you mean by too close though. my oldest daughter is in a shared apartment with her best friend, who is a gay man; his b/f; and his SON from an early marriage! They wander round each others rooms, it's almost like they are married, the closeness is soo close; but she also has a long term boyfriend; no, I think it's whatever feels right for the people concerned. Is your b/f just a teeny bit jealous maybe?

I am the same degree of closeness with all of my friends - am a naturally tactile person. With regards to the things you have said above, I think I have done all of the above with my friend at some point - have known him over 10 years now - and all my boyfriends over that time have accepted we are close. I think whether or not you are too close is something that only you can decide - but don't let your boyfriend or others dictate the terms of your friendships. If it a genuinely just a close friendship, what does it matter how physical you are with each other?

i have a gay friend at work and i would probably do daft things with him that i wouldnt if he were straight, like if hes wittering on i would pull up my top and flash him, with my bra on of course, just coz i know it doesnt do anything for him and its just a laugh, but if your boyf doesnt like it then maybe you should just tone it down a bit.

I like all of the things you mentioned. The more physical contact the better.
