That's a good time to workout. Do about 30 min of exercise and then take a hot shower or bath. When done lay down and soon you will be sound asleep. At least it works for me.

I am able to sleep using the following:
- melatonin : I took 1-2mg. I have colleagues that take up to 6 mg. The average is about 3mg. This is non additive. Another point is melatonin need no doctor's prescription. You can read more from this site
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/melatonin.....
I have even read from books on melatonin that it is an anti-aging pill. Not bad. You sleep and stop growing old.
- use lavender aromatherapy. Lavender smell help me to sleep after a night shift.
Some addition tips I used
- The most important rule is not to force yourself to sleep.
- Get a boring book with a topic you want to learn. Read until you are ready to sleep. Listen to classic music as you read.
- No activity before you sleep. Avoid watching movies, reading ghost stories, pillow fights, exercising.
- Keep the clock as far away as possible. The ticking make you even more afraid and awake

If none of the natural solutions help you like breathing and meditation, then you may need to get some sort of medication. There is over the counter medication that you can try, but I have no experience with this. I know that prescription meds can help a great deal, even if it is prescription Ibuprofen or Ambien.

If you find out, tell me too! I've been tossing and turning for 4 hours! I managed to fall asleep yesterday between 3:30-4:30am, but not tonight. There must be a full moon this week. I've already tried a hot tottie and warm milk. No joy.

OK. I have fibromyalgia and this is what I find helps me sleep: a herbal insomnia formula of valerian, passionflower, and magnesium. Also drink milk or hot chocolate prior to sleeping, as milk contains L-tryptophan, an amino acid which helps you sleep.
Hope it helps sweetie

Slow breathing exercises, listening to soft music, reading an incredibly boring book, eating turkey or bananas before bed can help also. Hope these help, good luck and sweet dreams;)

Heroine... just kidding.

Invest in sleeping aids (like pills). Some warm milk perhaps. A warm bath also helps.

You could try a cup of warm milk (if you aren't allergic to milk that is). That was something that used to often help me to get to sleep as a kid.
