Age is a big factor here.
Very young girls go mostly on looks - older women have been there and decided it is not the most important thing to consider.
Having said that ugly men have a disadvantage so that swings the advantage to the good looking men, but nowhere near as much as you are suggesting.

I think that confidence is extremely attractive in men. Perhaps 'good-looking' men are more confident, willing to take a risk and talk to women even though they may be shot down. Further, I would argue that ego is the extreme of confidence. All things in moderation they say. We all see humanity act in ways we may not agree with, don't write off all women because you see women with attractive men. Also, it wouldn't hurt to ask yourself -- are you seeking only attractive women? Physical desire is a necessary component to romantic interaction, that physical desire is different for everyone and is indeed (at least for myself) magnified by an intellectual/emotional connection.
I'm not sure how misogyny entered your mind frame. Unless perhaps you're condemning all women as shallow? I think that road, sadly, goes both ways.

Sounds like you're hanging around with the wrong kind of woman. Nice-looking men are just that - nice-looking. It doesn't mean anything more than that they're pleasant to look at. Whether they are interesting, or nice to be with, or have other good qualities is another matter - and it DOES matter. One of the nicest-looking men I know (whose name you'd possibly recognize if I told you, as he's well-known in certain circles) is a complete idiot; I'd never go out with him, much less anything more intimate.
If you're not successful with women, blame your attitude, not your looks.

With both sexes, the first means of assessing a person is their looks. Next is personality and intelligence, level of honesty and temperament. People obviously gravitate to someone that has good looks, but other things may drive them away.

the fact is that looks do matter. to everyone. because we all judge. and the reason better looking men are more successful is due to the woman's natural instinct to breed...now ladies don't think I'm calling you anything... its just that when women breed they have the natural instinct to choose the man that would produce highest probability of having a child who survives. Survival of the Fittest my friend...women want there genes to be passed on!!! so they choose the most suitable male.... and those males that get the women show the traits that believe women want to see and want to pass on to their children.

I think it has to do with short term vs. long term. But what do I know? I'm 47 and single.-(I'd type lol there but I hate following trends)-(perhaps that's why I'm 47 and single).
