Red Rum...Any horse that can go to the grand national and get round 5 times is special,Any horse that gets round 5 times ,winning 3 and being runner up twice is very special,he carried top weight in one of his victories and recorded a then record time in another, his achievement will never be equalled or beaten imo, even though the fences have been modified now for safety,in fact his record at aintree must be the greatest sporting achievement in the history of the world.

I'm an aussie- and, as we normaly do, i'm going to make your life harder. For me, it is a two-way tie between ...... Pharlap (bloody murdering yanks!) and Makybe Diva (Mak- eye-bee). Pharlap only won 1 (one) Melboure Cup, but did it in incredible time, and the Diva made history in 2005 by winning the Melbourne for the third time in a row. Now she is retired and since she didn't enter last year, 1st & 2nd place went to the Japenese. Where is the Aussie talent?? This, after all, is an aussie horse race. THE RACE THAT STOPS THE NATION!!- it's true- we get out of class to watch it!!!

Well, being an Australian, I'd have to pick Pharlap, he's the only one I know any thing about.
