Hi,
this is going to sound like something off of a tv show but i really like this girl ( fancy sounds to childish but i don't love her i am only 14 ) but my best mate also likes her and when i just pluck up the courage to ask her out, my mate does and gets rejected.................do i ask her out and risk losing my best mate or just move on, plenty more fish in the sea kinda thing cos i know he still likes her

Oh and please don't start going " your too young to have girlfriends, you should focus on your education " and stuff cos i do focus on my education but still..........why not?

You need to ask yourself one important question: Is she worth losing your friend? Most likely, I bet the answer is no. Your friend could be there for the rest of your life, she won't. If you're still in doubt, write out a list of pros and cons to asking her out. If there are more positives, then go for it. But, be ready to face the consequences of your actions. :)

Actually was going to mention integrity not education. Your friend put the moves on her first as you say you're not in love with her she was just someone interesting. The point being why risk that she may not turn you down in which case it would sort of be a double smack in the fact to him.

I would say ask him if he would mind if you took your chances however he would be honor bound to suggest that you give it a go. Which would be even worse.

In other words I think a really nice guy with integrity would afford his friend some dignity by just moving on to the next attractive young lady and not making a move on his ex.

never choose a girl over a friend, there's a saying that always rings true with me: Girls come and go but mates are always there. Long after you've forgotten about your crush on her you and your mate will be hanging out, but if you decide to go after her, one day both will be gone and where will that leave you?

hi....
does your mate knows that you like her too?....if he doesn't, why don't you find a way to tell him without upsetting or losing him
if you can't talk to him about it and you are sure that telling him this may affect your friendship with him then let it go and move on.....as you said a lot of fish in the sea.....
good luck

tough decision. Ask her, i would say.

If your friend is a true friend, he'll grow up and respect she likes who she likes, you didn't do it to go against him.

Or just ignore her, and be friends. good friends are hard to find. Option three. go to the friend. Say Mate, i confess, I fancy her. but out of respect for you, i know you like her, so I won't date her. maybe you make another go at it.

If he says no, you should try then do so. If not then not.

Good luck.

Hmm...I'm fourteen and I say do whatever feels right to you. Listen to what your heart is telling you to do. Don't listen to others cause they might force you to do something you dont wanna do and yeah.
