MW is standard broadcast or AM band in the USA. Used for local or regional coverage but suffers a lot of interference at night. SW or shortwave, from 3 to 30 MHz. Used for international broadcast as long distances can be covered, but changes frequency and direction through the day. FM, 88-108 MHz dependable day and night local coverage.
