absoluteley, i get up at 7 am on a sunday put my meat on then tidy the house while listening to the radio and smelling the gentle waft of meat from the oven. we dont do breakfast, then i serve up for midday and we then go for a nice long walk and come back and play a board game and slob in front of the t.v. we have sandwiches for tea and a few glasses of wine, its a real family day for us and the only day we all get to eat together and talk as a family about our week, so the whole essence of a sunday is great for me so enjoy your dinner and your day!!!!

I think it's because it reminds us of being home and family time. And also because you have the time to devote to cooking without rushing around. During the week we have to work as well as cook and saturdays are always hectic with shopping and running kids around.
I never have breakfast on a sunday but normally just a huge roast dinner with all the trimmings, cheese sauce, yorkshire puds, stuffing, loads of veg and usually chicken or pork (with crackling). And then a lovely pudding for a couple of hours later (can never eat it straight after dinner).

Well I love Sunday dinners, but it would be nice if I did not have to cook them.
I would just love to have one Sunday dinner cooked for me without having to resort to going out to a pub or a resturant for a Sunday lunch which I do not do any way.
I normally get up on a Sunday like today and wonder how many I may have to cook for, as they just turn up at the door and say surprise just come to visit then I ask are you sraying to diner of course we are, well would you like to wash up nop, we are the guest, so Sundays can be a nice day or just a wash out for me.
But I love Sunday roast dinners:D

No Idea, personally after cooking for 12-14 its not my best meal ever. I prefer the kind where I get to chill and relax in the lead up to my ideal Sunday Roast! Think of the cooks, we put in the effort but by the time we dish up, we ain't hungry!!!!!!!
(I do admit I negotiate out of doing the washing up!)

I know exactly what you mean.
It feels that way probably because that Sunday being a day of rest, the meal can be consumed in leisure and the menu items are usually more like a brunch then just breakfast.
My favorite is eggs benedict followed by belgian waffles. Another is steak and eggs with hash brown followed by blueberry pancakes. The favorite activity there after is usually just "digestion" LOL.

Hmm sunday food. Maybe it seems to be better as we seem to apreciate it more when we sit down and eat a warm-family meal. I myself love roast dinners. There is just something about sundays isn't there...
