You little sweetie, she is really lucky to have a sister like you.
Try and get her something she can take to school with her that links with home so if she is a bit sad she can look at it and feel better. A pencil case or lunch box with her favourite character on it.
The other thing you can give her is confidence, talk about school in a positive way reassuring her she will have a great time. Tell her you will always be ready to listen to her.

How about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Sesame Street, When I Grow Up, Noah's Ark, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

You did not say what your price range is. You may get her a new outfit to wear to school on her first day. If the two of you went shopping to buy this for her it may change her attitude about the first day. You may also buy her the book that was your favorite at that age and write a note on the inside of the cover telling her that this was your favorite book and you wanted to give her a copy of it so she can enjoy it as much as you did. A bag to carry her school supplies is also a nice gift. But the best gift that you can give her is something of yourself, be there for her, show excitement about her new advancement in life. Support her. You sound like a very caring sister and I think that she is very lucky to have you.

I would make her a pencil case full of her very own "special" items. Does she have a favourite cartoon character that you could get embossed on a ruler, pencils, etc.
She will feel very grown up, especially as it has come from her big sister.
I wonder, though, why she doesn't want to go to school. Most little kids are excited by the idea. Make sure you don't moan about going, and always paint a very positive image about it.

Figure out what she is excited about cartoon characters wise and go from there. If for instance she is into Dora the explorer, get her a cool backpack or coloring set with Dora on it.

A neat coloring box or lunch box is fun and will help get her motivated to go. She will feel cool and more confident if she feels like she fits in more.

Check out what other 5 year olds are using at school.
Good Luck,
~A

Well why not get her somthing nice, but also school related like a lunch box with her favourite character on? Or a set of colouring pencils if she likes art, or you could just get her a little teddy and say it will protect her at school or somthing like that to encourage her that school is ok
