Cats are very sensitive creatures, they seem to have a sort of sxith sense...as do all animals.
I know if I or any of my kids or husband aren't feeling well or are just down in the dumps all four of our cats sort of huddle around and stay near that person.
If you're had your cat for any length of time she's in tune with your normal feelings and can sense when something is wrong, she's just doing her very best to try and comfort you.

I have found that there is a telepathic bond between humans and cats. All of my cats have been “psychic” and know my moods or when I am not feeling well. Just as humans have intuition, so to do cats. I think my cats share the love I feel for them and care about me just as I care about them. I do find it very comforting when I am not feeling well or am sad and my cat shows me her concern. A good caress and purr do lift my spirits!

Some cats can pick up on our feelings. She is sorry that her pet human has something wrong and wants to fix it the only way she knows how.

Human have some radiance, we call it aura.
If we sad or happy, our aura can be change as what we feel.
Cat is a sensitive animal, they can feel our aura.
If you sad or angry, your aura change to bad and make them not comfortable
With their instinct, they will do something to make you normal, and the situation back in to comfort again...
pardon my english.. =]

Animals see to "sense" our moods and actions. Especially after you've had them for awhile, then they seem to get intune with your actions, schedule, and attitude. They are deffinately a marvel of God's creation--stress releiver/mental health provider on four legs!
Why does she care--because you're her pet. : )

cats can feel and see things we can't. she tries to comfort you because you are her special human and she loves you. they just know that sometimes a soft purr, loving nuzzles or warming your lap can be soothing. in my experience, our cat can be more understanding and comforting than humans
