Be careful what b-12 supplement you take. If the b-12 is derived from sperilina algae it will be a left handed molecule that the body can't process, and can lead to a b-12 deficiency. A good substitute could be Klamath Lake blue green algae.

B12 isn't a serious health threat (a threat, nonetheless. Get supplements), but what is most important is that you need the essential proteins that you can only get from animal meat. Don't panic, there are many alternatives that aren't animal based.

not if you eat vegan right, but supplements can never hurt, if you are doing this and plan on taking it seriously you need to study up on it really well get some books.

Dry cereal is fortified with B12. Many vegans get it from there.
