Shaved head and tattoos?

Question

hey there, i'm planning to shave my head and get a tattoo on it. Many people say it would look cool and stuff but someone told me that my hair wouldnt grow back if i get it tattooed. Is that true? i really want the tattoo but i want my hair as well.. help me out here plz!!! thanksyuuu

Barring major complications that cause fairly severe scarring, your hair should grow back just fine. Look at all those hairy guys with chest or leg tattoos; it hasn't stopped their hair growth. :)

As a warning [just in case you hadn't heard about it; can't hurt to be cautious], I hear scalp tattoos can be tricky. It's a very sensitive area and bleeds like the dickens [if you've ever seen someone with a scalp laceration, you know what I mean]. Make absolutely sure your artist knows what they're doing before you go through with it. If you can, find someone with previous experience; they can walk you through the possible complications as well. If you're prone to ingrown hairs, healing a tattoo with fairly dense stubble coming in might be more of a challenge too.

A few yeas ago I was grabbed by some men. They took me to an abandoned warehouse, where they shaved off all my hair. Then they continued with soap and a straight razor unlil I was siny bald. I found it a horrible experience, but they were not done yet. They tattooed a dragon around my head !
They took lots of pictures. It was about five in the morning when they let me go...
I lived with a skarf around my head for a long time. When the hair grew out, I found that they had tattooed my temples and forehead on the outside of my natural hairline !
I wear straight bangs and spray my hair totally stiff, so no wind can blow it aside. I still live with that trouma !

I think it would be cool! I don't have the guts to go that far, but good on ya if you do! I am sure the hair will grow back...the hair on my leg and my girl bit still grows over the tattoo!
It is also cool that eventually you will grow your hair back. Then you can shave it off again in the summer and suprise a totally new bunch of people!

Why shave your head and get a tattoo if you plan on growning your hair back out? Doesnt make sense. Why spend the money and face the pain only to cover your tat eventually up with hair. Cool idea if your gonna leave your hair shaved for a fewe years. yes your hair will grown back. My husband has a hugh tat on his head and his hair still grows there. Good luck. WELL I have heard other more serious reasons as to why NOT to get a tattoo on your head but to answer your question, I think hair growth should be fine.

I have a total of 9 and all my little body peach fuzz grew back where the tattoos are..

i have never seen anybody's hair not grow back after getting a tattoo. BUT whenever someone gets a cut on the head and it makes a scar the hair will not grow back on top of the scar. so if your tattoo isn't done properly you could scar and it could not grow back in the scarred places.

get your head shaved and tattoo on some part of your body. who knows you might not grow your hair anymore.

If you are tattooed by a PROFESSIONAL artist that will not overwork the scalp you should be okay. Normally, tattooing does not go near the bulb of the hair follicle - it does not go that deep.

Tattoo's will not disrupt your hair growth...

I'm not sure why you would want to tattoo your head, it hurts like hell and well, when you regrow your hair you can't see it...?? Why go through all that pain...??
