My chihuahua's skin on her stomach and neck is usually light pink, I noticed it today, but it must have changed like practically over night! It kind of reminds me of Cyanosis (in humans) do dogs get this too?? She seems to be perfectly healthy, and hasn't changed at all...except her color. It's weird, I don't really have the $ to take her to the vet right now, but if I have to I will, she's more precious to me than a couple hundred bucks. :(

she's 3 years old, and my vet has told me before that she has alot of allergies. In january i had to take her to the vet, she had dermatitis, an allergic reaction to something, he gave her a coricosteroid injection and some antibiotics. She's been great but all of the sudden this happens!

we need more info. did her skin get more red? that could be the result of an allergic reaction, in which case the dog should see the vet a.s.a.p.

or is the color more of a darker brown? how old is the dog? if it's still a puppy, it still might be developing skin pigments - which would give the dog a darker brown colored skin.

or this change in skin color could be the result of mites or a skin infection, in which case you should see the vet.

Where do you live? It seriously could be a suntan :-) My Chihuahua would start lying on his back in a nice sunny spot once the weather warmed up, and in a fairly short time his belly was darker than mine! True Story!
