Thanks for all the answers to my yakuza questions, but I have another one. What if you have a girlfriend who has a yakuza dad or something and you break up with her, will this anger someone of "higher power" and put me in a bad situation or do the yakuza not work like that? Or, what if I marry a woman who is related to a yakuza member? Yes, you people are probably going to yell at me for being afraid of them, but I was just wondering. Jeez...

The best answer goes to Go_Know_Thyself. I guess that makes sense. I just don't want to pick up someone nice in Shibuya or something and break up and then end up having to buy a prosthetic pinky tip...

No reason to yell at you at all...

Mostly because she would probably have nothing to do with you anyway... So it would not be an issue.

Yakuza marry their children into wealthy families of equal status and importance often to merge family ties...

Just your average Joe off the street is a long shot and therefore, you have nothing to worry about anyway, so don't.

As far as Toniru Sopranosan is concerned...You don't exist!

Well, that all depends on how you broke up. If you broke up amicably there would me no worries. But if you broke up with her out of the blue and she took it really hard, you could definitely expect a knock on your door no matter what country you were in. Especially if she was "daddy's little girl".
You see where I'm coming from, right? But that would not only be a Yakuza dad, that is any dad the really want to protect their daughter. The only difference is that a Yakuza dad is not afraid of the repercussions of consequences of the actions he would take against you.

Just be careful out there.

Ok, something like that actually happened to my friend. What you do is try to find another guy the girlfriend can go out with and introduce them to each other somehow, so that she is not suspicious. Once they are together often, the sparks should fly and you are off the hook. The thing would be to avoid that sort of interaction unless you are ready to deal with the "family" and what could happen if you upset them.

I would worry about the repurcussion of marrying someone whose parents were yakuza, just as I'd worry about marrying into any mafia family.

You have nothing to worry about when you're dead ! LOL ! Sorry. I doubt if anything at all would happen. Relationships break up all the time. And these people have more serious things to worry about. Marry a Amish lady and you won't have to worry about such things...

Why don't you just marry one and find out for yourself?
