Which attack helicopter is better? Hind or Apache?

Question

Though the hind carries more weapons and is hard to take down, the apache can carry more of a variaty and is more agile? What do you think?

The Apache is the better Helicopter working with both I am partial to the AH-64. I am an Apache Armament Electrical systems Repairer. The Hind has a bigger payload but it is only good for close attacks and need more than 1 to be accurate or do enough damage on a single pass. The Apache has a TADS/PNVS that allows more collateral damage and better accuracy from far away 1KM+ for the 30MM high explosive rounds, 2KM+ for the Rockets, and 6+KM for the Hellfire missiles. That is only for the Alpha model. For the new longbow w/ Doppler dome it can coordinate with other Aircraft, Ship, and Ground missiles to guide and control 180+ missiles with fire and forget capabilities. And that is with only 1 Apache Gunship.

I'm an American and I would have to say a Hind. Yup a Hind. I'll say it again a Hind. Oh., did I say Hind? Yeah, a Hind. Apaches suck, period. Don't believe the sales hype from these army kool-aid drinking idiots. Ooh, ahhh! Avionics! Wowza! Doesn't mean **** when an EMP knocks them out and the Apache scream and spins around like a girl on her first period. A Hind D, yes the 50 year old gunship, would just fly by and fart on the failing Apache then take its sweet time turning around and decimate it with a few dozen rounds of 12.7 Yak-B. Hell, they could even open the cockpit and shoot Marlin .22's at it and the thing would explode. I would feel a lot safer flying around in a armored car than a wheelchair with random monitors and "avionics" in it. The reds got it right a long time ago. Too bad we never did, Well, Bell is getting there but Lockheed, General Dynamics, Boeing, they all got some work to do.

The Apache is probably the better attack helicopter because the Hind's massive heat signature makes it extremely vulnerable to heat-seeking missiles. The Apache also has more sophisticated avionics. On the other hand, the Hind can carry combat troops, wounded soldiers, etc, while the Apache carries only the pilot and gunner.

Depends on what you want to accomplish.

do you need a knife or a sledge hammer?

Do you need to destroy on target or obliterate an area?

do you need speed and relative stealth or massed firepower and armor?

Both have strengths and weaknesses, you just have decide which weakness is more tolerable and which strength is more desirable.

Personally I go with the Apache, fast, relatively small, accurate, deadly and a Better track records than the Hind.

Granted if I wanted to blow up a lot of crap in a hurry, I would not say no to a Hind.

I say its about equal maybe the apache is a little better because it is lighter, it has a smaller heat signature, a variety of more updated weapons like the hellfire missile, it is more agile and overall the avionics are more updated as it came out in the 80s although the hind can be bought more and id like to see that a little more with american military vehicles.

I have to say it would depend on what kind of operation the helicopters are going in for.Apaches are made for short timing barrage hit and run missions and carry out strafing and day or night recon backup shootouts against enemy targeting positions.As far as the Hind Class D Gunship goes,yes it is more armor plated,moves slower than the Apache AH-64,but yet can be used for rescue and recover missions as well,with the capacity to carry more payloads or troops(almost similiar to the Huey choppers used in the late 1960's).And yes they can pack quite the punch to the surface and air targets just much so as any other aircraft we have to date. But the way I see it,they are both nice to have in any kind of firefight against enemy forces or territories.
