you need to replace the whole tie rod end lower a arm and the sway bar or just go to junk yard and pull the whole thing off a car there. strut and any bars that hold it to the car about 120 for all or sell it cheap to a person who can fix it and get a different car it will never drive is same unless you put in a lot a money to straiten the frame. when you have the tire off look for new metal in spots around that area if you see some the frame might be bent if it just a rub mark that is ok under coating that is flaking is not good. if all is good then get the parts and just tape up the places that the air bag came out good as new untill you can find anouther car because that one will have trany prblems next in about 3-8 months. if it was rear wheel drive then it would
ok. because its not a direct link to the trans. on front wheel drive cars if any thing is bent it shoves the axel into the trans warping the bearings and or braking them and you will not know untill the trans just stops or jams up in the middle of the freeway i had a nissan stanza do that to me and belive me you have on control as to where it go because both tires lock up. So its up to you. look over every part that is conected to that tire

Depends on many things like what year is it and do you have insurance? If it is an older model then yeah get a new car what is the point of fixing it now that the value of the car will go down after something major like this. Also if you have full coverage insurance you could possibly file a claim and have your insurance fix it and only pay the deductible. Your call ultimately!

Air bag deployment is going to run you around $2500 to repack and restore the system. You have done more then just mess up the axel. You may have cracked the shaft in the transmission as well. That will be another $1500-$2500. it is also likely you have bent the rim for the tire as well. another $25.00 from the wrecking yard. Hope this helps.

Even though this does'nt sound good at all im going to tell you just dont throw in the towel yet. i had the same problem as you only it was rainy and a fool ran me off the road into a 1 and a half foot storm drain at about 30mph. i went through the same scenario as you, i could'nt figure out if it worth it. Well lucky i ran into a salvage yard mechanic and he replaced the axel, strut, crossmember, etc. he said i was lucky i didn't bend the frame. All this done for about $350.00 total and took him about 1 day. good luck

My 91 was the same. The lower control arm was sheared. I was able to replace it from the junk yard for thirty dollars. it came attached to the frame piece that bolts to the body with four bolts.

Get a back yard mechanic to look at it to see if there is more damage and buy the parts from a junk yard.

Grand Prix's are purely customary vehicles with some sporty overtones. no longer speedy, purely sufficient means to get around from ingredient A to point B without being underpowered. additionally extremely stable with the GM 3800.
