because we (and when i say we i mean religious people) know that our beliefs are not blind. i would rather die than turn my back on my beliefs...i would rather die than reject something that i love so much, that brings me so much joy.

I think that the most admirable way to uphold what it is Christians believe in is to stand firm in that belief when everyone around you hates you enough to kill you. If you have never read Fox's Book of Martyrs, you may be missing the answer to your question fully. I could answer you from my limited knowledge with, " Because there are some things that people care about more than life" but that could be taken out of context to mean that things like terrorism might be okay. But if you gather the concept from a Book like the one I mentioned, then it settles into the mind in a different manner. It affects you in ways that a simple answer cannot.

Aside from love the only thing any of us can really claim to have are our beliefs. Everything else can ultimately be taken away from you. Your life, knowledge, worldly possessions, and everything else aside from those two things could all be taken away from you in an instant if a nuclear bomb were dropped on your house. I would readily risk my life for love or my beliefs because if I were not willing to risk it all then I wouldn't truly have either love or my beliefs. You cannot love just a little bit and you cannot believe only until it inconveniences you. It's either all or nothing.

There are those who go to war to fight for their beliefs, and, there are those who fight the fine fight of faith by refusing involvement in war, because of their beliefs. Consider ...

Because, think about it. All that matters is what you believe. If you believe that when you die you cease to exist, then a few extra minuets of life is very valuable. However, if you believe there is more than just what's tanigible, as I do, some things are just worth living, and dying for.

You know there is soo much to this world that is beyond our knowledge, unexplainable, undiscovered. We believe in Air, atoms, gas. Why not believe in God, a higher bieng who loves and created us and has more for us ahead. If people are wrong about God what was the harm? There is a peafullness/happiness inside your soul. Truly

Blind fate?? Just cause your eyes aren't open doesn't mean we can't see. Would you drive across the country without a map? Then why would you attempt eternity without one? And you called us blind??
