I have dark brown - blackish hair, and everytime i get it frosted/highlighted it always looks orange, I've seen other people with dark hair with the same outcomes, just wondering if anyone with dark hair or a stylist knows if it's actually possible to get bright (bright blonde) highlights if you have really dark hair.

any suggestions are appreciated.

It's possible, but I'm not sure what product will accomplish your desired outcome. I was in the salon some hours ago and saw a product...I think it was by Loreal...in Sophisticate Black Hair that talked about that very thing.

I'm sorry I really couldn't be of much help to you, but I really did see it advertised in a book.

Some stylists may just be trying to give you a more natural carmel look. But to be honest, the think about highlights is after you take out all the bleach the hair underneath will darken. So, a lot of people freak out cause the hair looks platinum, and they rinse the hair, and then when the hair dries, it darkens and it's not the right color. It's probable that they just need to leave bleach in longer (which is sometimes scary)

you can but you need to do it slowly usually up to 3 or 4 times, start with a dark brown then light brown , then dark blonde and resume with what ever you'd like to end with

I guess you have to bleach it first. Or dye your hair with the desired color more than once till you get what you want.
