Why think it is mind control when all it asks for you to do is accept Christ? No threats of hell, just food for thought, from someone who cares about you.

Assuming history proves some peoples' existence how would it prove that what they wrote is God's word or that their writings haven't been corrupted by translations, omissions and revisions over 2000 years?

If I write something today, is the mere writing of it proof that it is true?

History does not prove that there was a Moses. Archaeological and historical evidence is lacking for the story of Exodus, as well. And of course science has disproved Genesis in its entirety.

Who says I deny it? The bible was a book pieced together in the Roman empire from texts written by an array of men 2,000 years ago. As such, it reflects their primitive culture and societal views. That's why the stories support sexism and murder and stoning to death of homosexuals/adulterers and the concept of an angry god that works through the forces of nature to destroy innocent human beings (see the fable of Noah and Moses).

Now where the heck do you get the idea that accepting the reality of the bible means believing in a REAL man who flies into the sky, changes water into wine at parties (that lucky bastard) and acts for his murdering father?

To look at the bible as some analysis of supernatural non-existents is to deny its nature. So I suggest that you deny the nature of the bible, not the other way around.

I use proof to determine what I believe. The Bible is no different than the Quran or Egyptian book of the dead or any other text when it comes to proving supernatural things. Basically, it can't. Science can disprove it when it makes claims that go against the evidence (see Genesis).

Also, I appreciate that you didn't threaten me with hellfire. It's a nice change from the usual questions on yahoo.

peter and Paul I'll agree with you on. but there is not a jot of verifiable extra biblical evidence for Jesus or moses. and do not say that archaeology agrees with the bible, as all it does is confirm that some of the people and places existed. it also gets a number of things very wrong, like claiming certain cities existed when if fact they had been piles of rubble for many years before the events had claimed to take place. if in the future an archaeologist used the Da Vinci code as as guide then they could claim it is real because they can prove that the places and some of the people in it actually existed. the OT is a tribal mythology that is inconsistently accurate, but there is no archaeological evidence for any of the supernatural stuff.

History does not prove Moses. Neither does it prove much about any of these people's lives except for the fact that some of them existed. Just "accepting Christ" instead of investigating and being skeptical is EXACTLY what mind control is.

History also proves there was a Lao Zi, a Buddha, a Confucius, a Hindu Guru, a Prophet Mohammad, a Jew Rabbi, a flying spagatti (ok .... maybe not this one) and many ..... why you deny all their religions? All of them cares about you. All of them do not want to control you, just want you to accept them, some have DEFINATELY no threats of hell.

It is the same reasons ......

(Let see .... You better accept Christ, or else you will go to hell ...... not mind controlling attempts? ...... Define Mind Controlling.

Wait a second LOL... So god loves us right? So if god is so loving, and all knowing.... Why would he create us as imperfect beings that are just destined to fail? Why would he give us a set of laws he KNOWS we would fail, so that he would have to send his son to suffer and die because he made some rules that can be broken and that he KNOWS will be? Sounds like this god is a Sadist... Everything in the bible is about worship me or go to hell.. So he created us to worship him and feed his ego? And if we don’t worship him he's going to smite us and throw us into a lake of fire? Hmm... Sounds more like a spoiled narcissistic brat than an almighty loving god. Thanks... But I'd rather stick with Nature, and the laws of nature, which are the true words and laws of god... such as the law of gravity... that’s one of gods laws... because no matter what we do, we cannot alter that law.

Problem with people they don't take the time and research and how they study is bias to what they believe. The bible is stolen history across many lands to give Europe a religion.

It has been changed many times and going to be changed many more times that's what happens to lie.

No it dosen't. There is no record of the Jews being in Egypt as slaves. Jesus' existance is regularly debated by historians, and Peter was a charlatan.

Please, research unbiased accounts.

The bible is not history and if real history proves there were people with those names it does not prove they were the ones in the Bible.

all come on you know believing is Christianity is more than just accepting Christ. Accepting Christ is just the beginning of losing your autonomy to think for yourself. It is deception like this these makes me think Christianity is the real evil.
