My daughter wants to sponsor a child and found God's Child on the web. They are based in ND and run a school in Guatemala. They accept whatever amount you can afford to give on a monthly basis.
I would like to be able to trust that they are legit but in today's world one has to be careful!
Anyone out there heard of them or had any dealings with them?

Yes this seems to be a good charity if it is the one I've found below.

God Bless you and your daughter as she seeks His wisdom, direction and love to sponsor a child in need,

God's Child is run by a very contraversial person, Patrick Atkinson, who created the group after being fired from a previous charity, Casa Alianza, where he was accused of permitting the sexual abuse of the children by staff members, accepting donations from known terrorists, mismanaging funds, and various other things. These were later confirmed by Kroll Associates, a private investigation firm.

There are rumors that Atkinson took pictures of nude boys, but that was never substantiated.
