Women make up silly reasons for wearing a French man's invention called high heels. Heels are bad for your back, hurt your feet, and hinder your ability to escape danger, but women claim they wear them to "look taller", to "look stylish", or simply because "they want to." The truth is, they remain a pervasive part of womens' wardrobes because they make the female butt and legs more attractive to men. Over the centuries, men have exploited the human female's sex drive and desire to find a mate, making them forgo common sense, even at the cost of their own health and safety. And, the amazing part is that women BELIEVE they are wearing high heels by choice.
Simply brilliant.
Is it so inconceivable then to believe that religion is another clever invention of men who want to control and manipulate people for their own desires? Don't the faithful also think religion is good for them, and it's by their own choosing?

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
James 1 26-27
I dont know how you can control and manipulate people with that.

Women wear high heels to be sexy and they know it! Don't believe anything else!
Religion is another matter. I see it in two parts-1. the "political" side and 2. the "faithful"
I don't believe God cares what name your religion has or who "invented" it. Are all Roman Catholics to be punished for the priests who used the religion as a cover for their own perverted desires? Is the history of any particular religion being hung over the heads of those who currently gather in its churches, temples and mosques? I don't believe so. I feel we will all answer individually for our actions here on earth.
I don't feel that you can group people together in this way. The faithful choose a church or religion based on like-minded followers. They share the same beliefs based on their upbringing and (hopefully) their own questioning. Those who just absent-mindedly follow what they were taught as children are not exercising their own choice but just following a tradition. But those who carefully consider different paths can choose a religion freely. We are extremely blessed in our countries to be able to do so.

Depends on whether someone actually does the research to find out if the religion has any basis in fact. People who want to believe religion is brainwashing or manipulation will believe it no matter what a believer says. Mostly it doesn't really have anything to do with what is being taught in the religion but is based upon what someone else has said about religion. I'm often amazed at the misunderstanding people have about religion and how they hold on to those misunderstandings even when believers try to tell them the truth. They talk about the closed mindedness of believers yet are unwilling to listen with an open mind.

Muslim women wear what they please. You cannot tell how religious a woman is by what she wears. Some Muslim women choose to wear a style of clothing that was made mandatory during the Ottoman Empire, which is a modern era literalist interpretation of Islamic modesty. It is not "traditional" and it is probably not what their mothers wore. Traditional Islamic dress (predating the Ottomans) varies widely, culture to culture. It is always modest in terms of covering skin and shape, but usually not devoid of color and ornamentation. The long black cloak comes from the Arabian desert, where it is an extremely practical garment. The wool burka comes from high rough country, where it is an extremely practical garment. Other traditional Islamic styles of dress are practical for the climate in which they were designed and developed. The current, literalist interpretation of hijab is worn by a minority of Muslim women, but because they are the most distinctively dressed, they are who people think of when they think of "Muslim dress". They are not necessarily more religious than other Muslims, but because their dress is extremely different, they appear to be extremely Muslim. To answer your question, you have probably seen Muslims in high heels and not recognized them as Muslims. Typically, women who wear a black Arab style overgarment will not pair it with high heels as a fashion statement. Of course, a woman on her way to an "event" might wear whatever shoes match her outfit and throw the overgarment on top to get there. Some young women design elaborately put together "covered up" outfits, quite often including high heels.

Excellent insight! Its a parallel I would not have thought to draw, personally. I don't wear high heels because they hurt my feet and I want to be able to defend myself if necessary. And I don't like organized religion because its an affront to my intelligence and I prefer to do my own thinking.

I agree with you. I am not religious but spiritual. I think you are totally correct. P.S. We women actually like to dress for each other because we judge each other more than any man ever would. Messed up that theory. huh.
