I don't believe there was any god of any sort, but i do believe in heaven, just no god. But when I told my friends that I didn't believe in god, they try to make me believe in god? My parents believe in god but though I am young, 15, I still have my own belives, so why do people try to make me believe is things that I don't.

No one can make you believe in God. Those of us who do believe in God, especially in Jesus Christ, think that there is much benefit to believing and following Him while there are negative consequences for not doing so.

For those reasons, we believe it is loving to share our beliefs with others. We are told to do so "with gentleness and respect." Some don't share this way and so make a bad name for all who believe. However, some people get angry no matter how loving and gentle we share-they just don't want to hear that the opinions they hold about life and the afterlife might be possibly be wrong.(no one does).

I'd encourage you to fully explore what it is you think you believe about these things and don't take someone else's word for it either. If you want to know about Christianity or Judaism, read the Bible. Same would hold true for the other books that describe the religions out there. There are far too many atheists and agnostics, as well as followers of other religions on this site that make references to the Bible saying this or that when it is obvious they are just regurgitating what someone else TOLD them about what the Bible says or teaches.
While I might not agree with their viewpoint, I can certainly respect someone who has made a careful study of their belief system (including atheism) and others prior to coming to a conclusion. And I don't have to resort to name calling or belitting their intellect to get my point across.

People are told from childhood that their view is the only correct one and that they have a duty to spread (force) their religious views onto other people. Atheism or agnosticism is berated because it means you've rejected their religious views and belief in unproven things like god/s. People claim that atheism is nihilistic or amoral or not spiritual.

P.S. How can you believe in a heaven without a god? I haven't heard that one before.

Do what you want. Come on the boards and we'll debate anything. But I'm not going to threaten you with eternal hellfire for holding a different position than I do, unlike Christians and Muslims.

P.S. I am atheist.

People attempt to spread what they consider to be good and beneficial news. It does not matter if it is actually baloney. Interesting that you believe in heaven, but not god; what sort of heaven is that?

Not to be mean but you need to learn to spell. This shows me that you may not have the mental capability to comprehend a higher power such as God.

Yes God does exist and I feel bad for you for your beliefs. Without God and his Son Jesus Christ you will bust Hell wide open.

Good Luck and please consider my advice

Religion is like multilevel marketing. It spread by word of mouth. In this case money is not the object just your soul.

Because you won't make it to Heaven unless you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

People feel like they have this moral obligation to "convert" you. Other wise you'll go to h***. Now,I'm christian, but wish that people would let others do what they want with there religious life. Who's to say what is right and wrong?
