First of all nothing's free ever! Always read the fine print. Taking advantage is something else not good, Karma kicks in after all that. Its not our duty to decide when and how? Dont beat yourself up over thing's you have no control over.

God does not prohibit anyone from accepting what is offered free except when the love offering came from bad elements, bad doings, bad teachings and all that is against God
If someb ody offers you money for payment of sexual desire from a man, do not accept it because it is bad to use your private parts to obtain money but if you are very poor and someone will give you charity , help or aid in order to survive, take it and express your thanks to God.

If it's being offered freely, then what is wrong with taking it? I don't see the problem here. Stealing, however, is a different issue.
