ok, there are alot of misconceptions about losing wieght so ill give you a small lesson in nutrition and then ill let you know how to get rid of excess fat.
a pound of fat is 3500 calories. to lose it, you must burn all of those calories. the best part? the fat is GONE off of your body, so it cannot come back... unless you eat another excess of 3500 calories. because of this, it it really impossible to lose more than 2-3lbs of fat a week. any more than that is just water
many of us store excess water, which is is easy to get rid of, but even easier to get back.
how to do it?
its easy to get rid of water. drink TONS of it. a gallon a day. when your body is getting plenty, it will dump all the water it is storing up.
to lose wieght you must cut your calorie intake by about 500 cal. per day. to find your daily intake, take your wieght and times it by 10. this is the number of calories you would need to eat to maintain your current wieght (ie if you weigh 150lbs, you would need to eat 1500cal/day) so cut 500 from that. if you wiegh significantly more, you can cut more calories. dont go below 1200/day.
high protien and high fiber will keep you eating less. (chicken, lean meats, nuts)
stay away from sugar. (even fruit sugar at first)
keep low in saturated fats
raw veggies are very low in calories (lettuce almost has none)
do an hour of aerobics everday. you can do them any way you want. running, tv exercises, etc. if you dont like that pick an activity where you are constantly moving (dancing, basketball, etc) the trick is to break a sweat and dont stop moving (at all for the entire hour). this will ensure that your heartrate is up and will remain there (ideally 140-160 beats per minute)
hope this helps. remember, you cant lose wieght over night. but you can lose it faster than you think. stick with it! the first two weeks you will lose a ton of wieght, but remember, this is water. dont be discouraged when your loss slows down. you are still losing fat at the same rate. in addition, try eating 5-6 times a day (small amounts of food) because this will keep you from feeling hungry and also will boost your metabolism.

Eat less?
It's a calories in vs. calories out issue. Nothing more.
