although i do empathize with you regarding the difficulties you seem to be experiencing, i would be remiss if i didn't caution you of the difficulty you could be creating in future.

mental health is a very serious thing to document as having difficulties with and if it can be avoided that would be a wise choice. many opportunities are hinged on total competency and complete command of your faculties. if you have documented history to the contrary you would be disqualified without delay.

you should consult a professional and pray that he can give you a clean bill of health, both physical and mental. then you could look into the mental strength that you have at your disposal. if you will it, you are able, with your mind, to make wonderful things happen in your life. by the same token you can actually make yourself sick and you don't want to go there......yeah? so please be careful in future and keep well and happy.

my good wishes are with you.

Work with your doctor or a Psyc and ask him to see if can reduce the dosage. Mental conditions work better with the psycho therapy and medicine combination.

I like to suggest few more alternative approaches with meditation, yoga, reiki etc. These will help you relax and once you can relax you do not need beta blocker [Propranolol] and you will have good sleep so you do not need Valium type drugs eventually.

Do not discontinue the prescribed medicines, I am suggesting alternative approach along with the medical attention you are getting.

There is no need for afternoon naps more than 30 mins of time, so work with the Dr and get the reduce dosage. Your goal should be complete elimination of these drugs once alternative approach has fully worked and agreed by your Dr. Wish you the best.

You better do it! In general all the doctors that you're visiting should know about all the medications that you're taking. Even if they are not medications from their specialty.
The reason is that a lot of medications are having side effects which have nothing to do with original problem ( example: I was taking once a strong painkiller that made me extremely depressed!). The second reason is that some medications interact with each other ( some antibiotics make anti-baby pills completely useless - girl gets rid of the flue, and gets a baby).

When it comes to your medications that you're taking it's hard to believe me that your Internal Medicine doctor was prescribing you these kind of medications without consulting with your psychiatrist! In my country ( I'm Croatian ) he could lose his job for that. You're lucky that he prescribed you a good one ( you say that you feel good now). Thank God for that and tell your Psychiatrist about them. That's his spatiality!

I would recommend seeing a psychiatrist because they may be more up to date on the medicines and treatment. The psych doc probably reads all the studies and things about psych meds but the internal medicine doctor probably doesn't.

yes you should. a MD is not qualified to diagnose, and assess you mental health. you should not be treated by a MD untill you are properly assessed and diagnosed by a psychiatrist, who then should be ordering medication, and other treatment options, such as seeing a psychotherapist. you may not necessarily have to take medication the rest of your life. seeing a good psychiatrist along with a psychologist may get your life on track again. i am a mental health professional who used to work with a lot of Md's and psychiatrists. and although your MD has good intentions, he should leave your mental health problems to a psychiatrist. good luck
