what is the procedur of cleaning or replacing the orifus ? that will open the system, do i need to pull a vacum and does any body know what wires i would check to test voltage at and maby what the high side and low side presure should be, i know the quick connections are two differant size. all i have are standard freon gauges with threads. thanks for your help' jc

Located in the liquid line, which is a small hose, either near or in the evaporator core. You need a special tool to remove it, if it's dirty, need to replace accumulator, and put a vacuum back on the system. The orifice tube might also be in the small line near the condensor

normally.. the a/c will turn on and off at a rate of about 1-2 a minute.. any more than that it usually needs freon...

If you need to replace or clean an orface, it means you have issues with the system....

low side if I remember is about 40psi, high is 225psi and uses a quick connect... you will need adapters or new hoses but most recommend using a new guage setup for r-134a so as to not contaminate the system.

Cheaper to spend the $49.95 and let a place diagnose it correctly for you (Usually they do $29.95 specials but I added for a can of r-134a in there)

If the AC is cycling on/off, is it low on freon? The low pressure switch may be taking it out.
